Looking for a fun place to spend a few quality days with friends and still get some quilting/scrapbooking/crafting done? Maybe you’re in town for our Dickens Village Festival, Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament, a graduation or a wedding and are looking for someplace to stay. Here at The Merry Moose we have a 3 bedroom apartment located above the shop and it’s dedicated to just that purpose. We have two twin beds in one room, a queen and a full bed in one room and a queen bed in one room, that will easily accommodate you and your friends. No worries about sheets, or towels, we provide them all. We also have a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave and even a Keurig coffee maker for your use. You can, of course, bring your own food but why not hit the local restaurants for some fun food and forget about the cooking? There’s a small dining area and a small sitting area, but the rest is dedicated to table space for your projects. There is room to comfortably seat 4 people and could “squish” in another one if you really wanted to. If you have a larger group, or need more space, we have a place just ½ block away that can be rented for $20 per day, where you can really spread out, maybe have a class!! So come on, make yourself at home, while having a great time relaxing with your friends and enjoying your hobby. My sisters, niece, and I stayed in the classroom upstairs last spring. We had a wonderful time and were treated with awesome hospitality. Deb made sure we had everything we needed. I missed packing the cord for my second machine and Deb let us borrow one of her sewing machines. When we had questions about sewing and quilting she helped us through them. It is always nice to have expert help. I would definitely recommend a few days of sewing with friends here.

I have had the opportunity to use Merry Moose’s classroom two times now. Both times have been an extremely positive experience.
The space is a perfect size for a small group of friends to meet and share time doing a hobby we all love. The rooms are spacious for sleeping, beds comfortable, and beautiful quilts to sleep under. Deb is a gracious host providing small things that one forgot to bring. Tables and ironing boards are available for use. The Kitchen is the right size to prepare meals as needed for our stay. Or, local restaurants are close enough you can walk to and eat out. I will be planning more get-aways with friends and family in the future!!!

Deb was so helpful when we had questions about our projects and taught us some new things too! It was nice to have The Merry Moose just downstairs for supplies and inspiration. She has beautiful quilt samples and fabric, including kits (my personal favorite). I will definitely come back to spend more time at The Classroom!
